Why you should decorate your home with crystals
When I was 11 years old I went to a local market with a friend. I came across a market stall with a variety of crystals and I remember how happy I felt looking at all of the pretty colors.
I bought a beautiful piece of Amethyst and i remember telling my friend that my body felt tingly when I held it. Obviously, she thought I had lost my mind but, I know now that I was feeling it’s energy.
In Feng Shui, we believe that nothing exists on its own. Everything that is, and every person is connected by energy.
Crystals also have unique energies. They can be used as a modern cure, in place of the usual Feng Shui coins and trinkets.
For example, in your wealth area you can place a Citrine Crystal. Citrine is the crystal associated with happiness and abundance.
I personally have them all over my home! They make me happy and that is good Feng Shui.
Now, you might be thinking that is just so ‘woo woo’. So many people challenge the crystal theories and whether they actually work.
But, here is the thing, everything has the energy that you give it. Some people have ‘lucky charms’ or they believe things hold bad luck. So, if placing crystals all over your home makes you feel abundant, you should do more of that!
One of my favorite things to do is, to go crystal shopping. Find out if you have a local metaphysical store and take a look at what they have. There trick when going crystal shopping is to buy the crystals that call out to you. You will probably feel drawn to a particular stone because you may be lacking that energy in your life. You will find that when you look up it’s properties, that you resonate with it.
Crystal tip: If your home needs some grounding and protection, place 4, clear quartz crystals in each corner of your home or chosen room.
You can pair this quartz with rose quartz to call in love, or Citrine to call in wealth.
Crystals you should have in your home
Black tourmaline. This is the crystal used for protection. In general, black crystals absorb negative energy. A perfect stone to put somewhere in your from entrance.
Amethyst. A stone that is connected to the crown chakra. It is powerful for calming the mind in stressful situations or when the thoughts are racing. It is also the color of wealth and abundance. You can keep one in your wealth and abundance area or on your desk. A great crystal to keep you connected to your spiritual side.
Clear quartz. This one is known as the master crystal. It will amplify the energy of any stone it is paired with. Quartz not only looks classy, it will instantly raise the vibe of your home.
Citrine. My personal favorite. With its pretty yellow hues, this crystal is said to hold the energy of the sun. It’s the crystal of luck, money, joy and manifestation. If you are trying to manifest a particular thing, keep Citrine around you. You can even wear citrine jewelry.
Rose quartz. The ultimate crystal for love. Wear this crystal when you are going on a date or slip a rose quartz in your bath for a deeper connection to yourself.
You can also place two rose quartz crystals in your Love area or one on each of your nightstands for a more harmonious relationship.
The Bagua Map
The 9 areas of the Bagua map can also be activated with the use of crystals. If you are are looking for a quick energy enhancer for your Guas, crystals can help do just that.
For the Career Gua, you can use pyrite, amethyst, green aventurine or citrine.
The Fame and Reputation Gua, you can use red stones such as Carnelian, garnet and sunstone.
The Love and marriage Gua, you can use rhodonite or rose quartz.
The Health and Ancestors or Family and New Beginnings Gua, you can use green stones such as Malachite and green aventurine.
The Center Health Gua, use yellow crystals such as citrine.
Children and creativity, Howlite is great or any white crystals.
Knowledge and self cultivation, labradorite or blue stones such lapis lazuli would work so well.
For Career and life path, black crystals like black onyx and tourmaline or smoky quartz.
Lastly, The Helpful People and Travel Gua a cleansing stones like selenite would be perfect.
If we have a missing Gua in our home. We can use crystals to bring in that ‘missing’ energy. You can place a crystal in the area that is missing, on the inside or on the outside.
