Feng Shui your front entrance before the Lunar New Year
The Lunar New Year is tomorrow!!
One of the best ways to prepare your home for a prosperous new year is to make your entry way a place that makes abundance feel welcome.
I usually suggest that my clients do this before the new year or the day after. It is said that on the day of the New Year (January 29th), you shouldn’t do any cleaning as this can mean all year you will be cleaning!
How to prepare your homes entrance.
Clean it! This is the first thing that you should be doing, not just around the New Year but all the time. The front entrance of a home is known as the mouth. It is where Chi enters and then circulates around the home. Making sure that it is clean and clear is vital. Healthy Chi can not circulate in a home that is cluttered and dirty.
Make sure that you have a welcome mat on the outside of your door and that there is one on the inside. When we have a welcome mat, we are telling the universe that abundance is welcome here and we are giving it a place to land. The mat on the inside helps to ground Chi that comes in and also, gives visitors a place to wipe their feet so dirt isn’t being bought in.
Your door must be in great shape. It must be easy to open and shouldn’t be sneaky or hard to open. If you have trouble opening your door, there may be obstacles that stop abundance from getting to you. It will be hard to recieve. While you are checking the door, make sure the doorbell is working properly and any lights outside are in good working order.
If possible in the entry way of your home, place a mirror to the left or right as you enter. This will make sure that Chi is being bounced around the home. Never place a mirror directly opposite the front door as any abundant Chi will flow straight back out.
Make sure that the path leading up to the front door is clear of any weeds, snow, or obstacles. Again, if you have anything blocking Chi from coming to you it will cause issues with abundance reaching you.
Be sure that the numbers for your house can be seen clearly. If they are hidden, hard to see or dirty, it will make it hard for abundance to find you.
Wipe down your door weekly. This will ensure that fresh Chi is always coming.
Remove any dead plants or trees that are around the front door. We want to make sure that that Chi we attract is lively and vibrant.
Sometimes our entry way can be a place where things gather. Maybe you pile garbage there before you take it out or, Amazon boxes accumulate for a while before you find time to open them, there is unopened mail or, you have shoes everywhere.
Since the front door is so important, we must put other structures in place for these things. We could take the garbage straight outside, open packages and put them in their place, buy a shoe rack to get better organized and, open mail right away and stay on top of it. These practices will make a huge difference throughout the entire home. The front entrance will always have a ripple effect.
There we have it! A short and sweet guide on how you can invite more abundance into your home and allow it stay this year!
Wishing everyone a prosperous year ahead! XOXO
