How To Feng Shui Your Dining Room
Hello! In place of the usual weekend Feng Shui tips I normally post on Fridays, I thought I would put the focus on the Dining Room today.
Currently, we have been searching for the perfect dining room chairs since the ones we have are on their last legs… literally! And in true Feng Shui fashion, when something no longer is working for you, you get rid of it or replace it.
In Feng Shui the dining room is connected to family relationships and abundance. It is a room where you host gatherings, discuss the day with you family and, be together.
It is mainly a yang room that will have yin moments throughout the day, so balancing the energy is key. It is Meant to be vibrant, well lit and, where Chi should flow with ease.
As it is a room where we nourish our families and often eat the food we buy, it is therfore naturally a room that abundant Chi is attracted to.
Follow these suggestions, that are steeped in Feng Shui principles, to decorate your dining room.
Use Mirrors. Mirrors are excellent at moving Chi around a room. If we place a mirror in the dining room it will encourage prosperous Chi to move throughout the home.
When we reflect the dining table, we naturally create more time for family as the table is doubled. Similarly doubling the food we eat can help double abundance.
They also make a room feel more expansive which can help to expand your relationships and friend groups.
Mirrors are connected to the water element, which representstability career Chi. So having a mirror in the dining room can help boost your career.
What we display on our table as decor is important. I would suggest a round fruit bowl filled to the brim to represent the overflow of money in your life. We can also use pairs of things to symbolize romantic relationships. Things like a pair of candle sticks would be a great idea to call in love.
Avoid over crowding or clutter on the table as this represents having a calender that is too full and, creates that feeling of not enough time but, could also cause chaotic Chi to flow to other areas of the home.
When choosing furniture for your dining room, opt for a round table if possible. Round tables soften energy and create a welcoming atmosphere. If you have a square or rectangular table, you can soften the edges with a table cloth or runner. A table made of a solid wood or metal frame is best as this represents grounding and stability.
When choosing dining chairs, look for chairs with a high, stable back and make sure that they are comfortable. Also, make sure you have enough seating and, your table is big enough for 4+ people. Creating space is especially good if you are looking to attract love.
If you are single and live alone, as crazy as it sounds, set a place for a romantic partner and then the partner must show up! Classic law of assumption.
It is important to have an even number of chairs to represent harmony and balance. For example, if you have 5 chairs, there may always be someone that feels ‘left out’ of important conversations.
When choosing art for your dining room, choose images that represent wealth such as landscapes that show a forest of trees or vases full of healthy flowers.
If you have a dining room positioned in your Wealth Gua, it is important to incorporate wood elements into the decor. You can place two potted plants to help balance abundance. Make sure that the room is well lit and you can also use the colors green, purple and, gold. Use a mirror to activate the flow of money.
If you are in the process if building a home, design the home in a way that the dining room is easily accessible to the kitchen for a seamless flow of energy.
As always, I am wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead! If you have any questions or would like information about a Feng Shui consultation, don’t hesitate to reach out!
