How to Feng Shui Your Bathroom
The bathroom is probably my favorite room in my home.
I could spend hours rearranging, organizing and making it pretty!
Not only is it the room we do most of our self care rituals, it’s a room that has huge importance in Feng Shui. The Chi in your bathroom can affect the abundance that circulates throughout your home and here is why:
The bathroom holds a lot of water Chi. Water is the element of Career and also how we make the money that flows into our homes.
Have you ever noticed that we describe money using words related to water? Cash flow, frozen assets, liquid assets, streams of income, money down the drain are just a few phrases that we hear everyday in relation to money.
Bathroom Feng Shui tips
It is important to keep the lid of the toilet closed at all times when it is not in use. When we keep the toilet seat up, it will signify the flushing away of finances. It is also important to keep the toilet clean and it good working condition.
2. Add artwork that has upwards energy. For example, an abundance of tall trees or plants. This will symbolize the expansion of money and finances.
3. Make sure your bathroom has great lighting. Change any burnt out bulbs, fix any broken light fixtures. Abundance Chi likes to be bright and seen.
4. Repair any leaking faucets and clear any clogged drains. This is the most important tip. Leaks cause a leak in finances and clogged drains symbolize money not being able to circulate freely.
5. Add plants. You will need wood element energies like plants to soak up any excess water energy. You can also add green floor mats and wooden accents such as baskets.
6. Keeping the bathroom door closed when not in use will also help in similar ways to keeping the toilet lid closed. The bathroom is also a place where we get rid of toxins and flush away things we don’t need so keeping the door closed will further help keep abundance flowing in the home.
7. Tie red string or ribbon under the sink on the drain pipe. You can also do this in all bathrooms and any other sinks in the home. I have had had clients do this with much success! The red string helps to also keep abundant Chi in the home and stops it from going down the drain. Remember that while tying the red string or rubbing to set the intention of money flowing through the home.
Crystals in the bathroom not only look pretty but can further enhance the energy.
Use crystals like rose quartz, jade, amethyst, aquarmarine and clear quartz as they are connected to the lower chakras. They will keep your bathroom energy in harmony and good vibration. Be sure that you are cleansing the crystals regularly.
How to cleanse your crystals
Everytime you bring a new crystal home or when you feel they need to be cleansed (maybe after a tense argument or challenging time) you can place them on a windowsill so that the energy from the moon can ‘reset’ them. You can also put your crystals outside on a full moon to enhance their energies. If you prefer, you can smudge them using sage or incense or lay them on a selenite plate to ‘charge’ them.
I like to cleanse mine every full moon so that the energy is always clear and potent.
