Iā€™m not not sure if itā€™s because I live in Alberta and itā€™s still covered in snow, but lately I have been loving home decor inspired by the desert.

Desert Chic! I have always wanted to visit Sedona, Arizona. Everytime i see pictures, I can see myself there. Manifesting that now!

I have heard that the red rocks that form Sedona are filled with layers of quartz crystals and that just makes me wonder how high vibrational the energy must be.

This has got me home decor shopping for desert inspired accents. Remember, our home is a 3D visionboard for our manifestations. If we decorate our home to match what we want, we trick our minds into believing that those things are natural to us. It will help our nervous system feel safe, and not freak out, when our manifestations arrive. Simple! (šŸ˜¬)

The key to master desert aesthetic is white or neutral walls. This helps the decor to really pop. The accents used are simple but, they really stand out with the bare, light walls.

When we see desert homes, there is usually a patterned rug.

In Feng Shui, patterns are fire elements. So if we are looking to balance a room with the 5 elements (water, fire, metal, earth and wood) we can use patterns to bring that energy.

The blending of textures is also important to balance the yin and yang energies. Although some rooms need a little more, for example: the bedroom should be more yang, using different textures will help to do that.

The leather poof, wooden chair and fabric couch are good use of balance and textures.

In Desert decor, you will see a lot of cacti.

In Feng Shui, the use of spikey plants like cacti are usually not recommended as they have a harsh energy. However, if placed correctly, and if you love them, you can absolutely use them to decorate the home.

Avoid placing them in the office, wealth and relationships corners or, like above, in the bedroom.

Pictures or paintings of Cacti though, are really great alternatives.

Desert decor heavily uses the element of wood. It is a staple to nailing the decor aesthetic.

I would balance this out by adding some water element decor pieces.

Water element decor

šŸŒµ Mirrors have water energy. Be mindful of what they reflect when you place them in your home.

šŸŒµ The colors blue and black are water colors. You can add accents of these colors for flow and prosperity.

šŸŒµ Glass. Such as vases and bowls are decor of the water element.

šŸŒµ An aquarium or fish bowl. You could also have a small, desk top waterfall for moving water. Moving water helps the flow of money in the home. This is really good if the money flowing into your home has been stagnant lately.

I love the earth tones. Terracotta planters are great at incorporating the earth element. We need the earth element in our homes for grounding and stability.

Final Thoughts

Desert Chic Home Decor is easy to nail no matter where you live! With summer approaching have fun with decorating your home with things you can find in stores.

Remember to balance the elements and strategically place any spikey plants.
