A few months ago i started receiving messages in my inbox about the best Feng Shui gifts to give this holiday season!
Now i just want to say, before we add things to the home we must begin to de clutter things we no longer need or use. In Feng Shui, when we remove these things we actually make space for more things to come in. It helps to welcome them properly and letting go of what we don’t need has an amazing effect on the Chi in your home. Things will feel lighter and it can actually help you think clearly and make space for new ideas. Try it!
So, there are five things that i suggest to add to your home that will help to improve Chi and that are great for Feng Shui. I will not talk about the Bagua Map in this post, but eventually as you follow along with my blog, you will learn the best places to put them in your home. For now, adding the energy is the most important.
Plants are the perfect thing to add to your home as they change energy almost instantly!
The first thing i love to do in my clients homes is to add plants. Plants are connected to the wood element. They hold the energy of growth and expansion. They are also great to purify the air. The only rules for plants i have is to avoid spiky plants like cacti. Plants make great gifts for someone looking to attract the energy of wealth as wood is the element needed to improve wealth and abundance.
The plants i recommend are Money trees, Monstera plants, Snake plants and my favorite, orchids. These are all so perfect for Feng Shui.
Tip: Place a purple orchid in the entrance of your home to attract some seriously good energy. Purple is also the color of wealth and money.
Crystals. Now i know what you are thinking, do crystals actually work? The truth is everything is energy, everything has energy. The same is true for crystals. Each one holds a specific energy within them and we can give them a job when placed around the home.
For example, I will always recommend placing a black tourmaline crystal somewhere near the front door of your home. Not only do black crystals absorb negative energies, they also provide a protective energy.
Some favorites of mine are Amethyst, Citrine, Rose quartz for love and, clear quartz to amplify the Chi.
Tip: Place a clear quartz in the corners of your home to help keep the energy clear and raise the vibrations. Cleanse them during the full moon.
Candles. Not only do candles help change the scent of your home and bring a relaxing glow. They are connected to the element of fire. Fire is the element we activate when we need motivation, it helps spark imagination and manifestation. Candles make great gifts. My personal favorite candle is the Jamlik from Ikea, it is the signature scent of my home. The perfect vanilla scent.
Tip: Place a candle on your desk to help keep you motivated. When you are done working, blow out the candle to help you signalize the end of work time to help switch off your mind.
Wind chimes. Wind chimes are used for many reasons in Feng Shui. These include creating positive sound energy, bringing in the metal element and they also help guide sound vibrations into your home or business. They are often used as a cure and a good luck magnet. They also help change the energy of a negative location with there pleasant sounds. So if you feel your home isn’t located in the best spot, add a wind chime to the outside of your front door.
Hanging faceted crystals. Hanging a multi faceted crystal to certain windows of your home can help distribute positive Chi around you. This is probably the most simple and cheapest way you can attract positive Chi. My favorite part about these hanging crystals is the rainbows that flood the room they are hanging in.
Tip: Make sure the windows in the home are clean before you hang the crystal. Dirty windows can actually distribute negative Chi around the home, having the opposite effect.
