Does your home have good Feng Shui?
Hello beautiful people!
One thing I always get asked is ‘how do I know if my home has good Feng Shui?’
What is Feng Shui
Just in case you don’t know!
Feng Shui translates to ‘Wind and water’ it is about understanding the way your fortune flows into and, around your home. The mixing of wind and water is known as Chi.
Chi is the subtle charge of electromagnetic energy that flows through everything.
The Chi that flows through your home is important and it is either creating chaos or bliss. You can also use this energy to support your manifestations.
The Chi that flows through your body carries your thought beliefs and emotions.
Your home has one of the biggest influences in your life and, it is something over which you have control over.
One of the best ways to tell if your home has good Feng Shui is by the way you feel when you are there.
How do you feel about your home and everything in it?
This is a great question to journal out! It will help you see which ways your home is blocking you.
If you have been living in your home for a long time and things were going great and now they are not, you may have some stagnant Chi that needs to be released.
If you have just moved into a new home and things have felt ‘off’ and, life is throwing you some tough situations, you may need to tweak the energy in your new home.
There is no such thing as ‘bad’ Feng Shui, just energy that needs to be cleared and rearranged.
Before you move into a home or if things have been going feeling stagnant in your current home, you may want to do a space clearing.
How to cleanse your home
For this you will need some sage or Palo Santo and, a bell.
Sage and Palo Santo have been used for centuries to cleanse homes and spaces to rid them of negative energies.
Once you have lit the sage or Palo Santo, you may begin cleansing.
I like to start at the front door and then go clockwise into every room and through the hallways. I also think that repeating affirmations as you cleanse is so powerful.
White sage also has many other benefits as shown below by @mysacredsoul.
After you have cleansed the home, open the windows and release that old energy.
Although not often talked about, a bell is a very powerful way to shake up any stagnant Chi. Go to each corner of each room and ring the bell a few times. This will wake up whatever has accumulated in the corners and set it free.
Feng Shui is often called acupuncture for the home and that analogy is perfect!
How to tell if your home has good Feng Shui
Positive emotions. Feeling happy, peaceful and uplifted when you walk into a room is key! Also an indicator of good internal Chi is feeling happy most of the time. You are human and everyone has off days, but in general if your mood is calm and happy, you have great Chi!
No obstructions. Look at your front entrance inside and out. A clear home entrance will attract positive Chi. Make sure your front door open smoothly and there is nothing blocking it.
Balanced furniture layout. Furniture in rooms should be balanced and symmetrical. If a room doesn’t have balance this will feel like disharmony.
Good lighting. There should be a good amount of natural light that flows in. In rooms or hallways that are dark, place a lamp or appropriate light fixtures.
Minimal clutter. So very important. Clutter creates chaos, not only in the home but in the mind. An organized and well maintained home creates calm and promotes healthy Chi flow.
To make sure you are moving into a home with good Chi, ask your realtor about any history of the home that is important and questions about previous occupants.
Note that if you hear anything negative, energy can always be changed and rearranged but it is always helpful to know what energy you are working with to put the right remedies in place.
