6 Ways to Feng Shui your rented home.
If you live in a home that is rented and you want to decorate for good Feng Shui, you have found the right blog post!
Often times when we rent a home, we may not be able to paint the walls or make any permanent changes but, there are lots of other things we can do for positive energy flow and good Feng Shui. In fact some of the most positive energy homes i have had, have been rented homes. When we know how to decorate using Feng Shui, we can create a magnet for abundance and love almost anywhere.
The truth is you can be happy, healthy and be rich with opportunities no matter where you live.
6 ways to Feng Shui when you rent a home
My first tip is to align the home with the Bagua map. Know the areas and use the map to enhance the Guas.
Get to know the main element and add them into each Gua.
I love using the Bagua map rather than compass directions because it makes Feng Shui so much simpler to apply to any home. The way you align the map will be the same in every home you live in, and i think that it makes Feng Shui so much easier for everyone. Plus it is so much fun to know where your areas are and then decorating them to support your goals.
2. Painting walls may not be an option but you can add color in so many other ways. Pillows, rugs, blankets and decor in colors you love can change the energy. Pick colors and fabrics that show your personality so that the home you live in knows you too. I truly believe that every home has a soul and to blend that soul with yours is where you can create a home that supports you. This may seem like a crazy concept but have you ever had that feeling of falling in love with a home or just the knowing that a particular home is yours? That is the homes soul that is aligning with yours.
3. Mirrors. They can change an entire room. Mirrors are like a magic cure in Feng Shui. They can bring energy and light to rooms with no windows and we can use them to reflect things we love to double the joy in our homes. I wrote a whole blog post about mirrors that you read here.
4. Window coverings. Make sure your home has appropriate window coverings if the home you live in doesn’t have any. Curtains are a quick fix that you can always take with you when its time to move. Having good window coverings will protect you from unwanted energy coming in. When we first moved into our current home we hadn’t found the right curtains and every evening when the sun went down i always felt so exposed and uncomfortable!
5. Artwork. Hanging the right artwork is so important and a way for you to express yourself in a way that won’t make permanent changes. The art we hang is always sending messages and signals to our subconscious mind. We may not be aware but, if we have a picture hanging that we don’t like our minds are always aware of it whether we are looking at it or not and it will always be feeding us negative energy.
6. If painting the front door is not an option, hanging a wind chime and/or a wreathe can have the same affect. A wind chime is a powerful Feng Shui enhancement that you can hang near your front door to change the direction of negative Chi and call in positive Chi and good opportunities. A wreathe is similar. Making the front door feel welcoming is so important. We want to invite good opportunities and make them feel welcome and wanting to stay and keep coming.
Bonus tip! Pay attention to the layout of furniture. Make sure when you are placing your furniture so that there is space for good Chi flow. Place your bed and couch in the command position, balance the furniture in each room and, keep all spaces free of clutter.
In nature, animals create safe spaces all around us. Birds build nests, spiders make webs and caterpillars transform in cocoons. They create homes that keep themselves and their families safe and protected and as humans we need to learn to do the same in every home that we live in.
