25 Easy New Years Resolutions You Need To Make

Can you believe that 2024 will be over in just a few days?!

It is so crazy how time is flying by. When I looked back on my 2024 list of things to achieve, there are a few things that I didn’t achieve and I will admit, it made me feel a bit down. This happens so often with a lot of us, and then we feel bad about ourselves and try again the following year and always feel like we have failed. This is not how resolutions should be!

Below is my vision board for 2024.

Vision boards

I love making vision boards! There is something that happens when we physically are able to see the things we want to achieve that makes them easier to achieve. I place mine in my bathroom, in a pretty frame, so that I see it first thing in the morning and spend some time getting excited!

A vision baord is a collection of images placed on a board of all the things that you want to achieve. You can make them yearly or monthly.

Pinterest now has a collage feature that allows you to create vision boards which you can then add as your phone screen background. This is great if you love the idea of a digital board.

When I create vision boards with my clients, I like to use the Feng Shui Bagua map to make sure we are covering every area of life.

The Bagua Map and it’s 9 sectors.

If you use the Bagua sections, you could make a board for each section or include them in one big vision board.

Making New Years resolutions should not be a hard and stressful process. They shouldn’t be over thought and they should make you feel excited and motivated!

Did you know that 80% of people give up on themselves by February?! Spending nine months in past cycles and habits that have gotten them no where.

New Years resolutions take commitment. They should be more about changing your life style, rather than making your life harder or making you feel guilty for not achieving them.

So decide and, set the intention to not give up on you, with my 25 New Years Resolutions that are easy to stick to and can create huge, lasting changes. (The small changes make the biggest impact!)

25 of the best New Years Resolutions…

Meditate for 10 minutes a day. Just 10 minutes can make a huge difference. Read my previous blog posts to see the benefits of meditation.

Set a bedtime and create a night time routine. My routine consists of sleepy tea, make up off and reading 20 minutes before sleeping. I like to be asleep by 9:30.

Schedule one self care activity or day, every month. This could be getting your nails or hair done or even just a long bath at home. Make the time for you.

Read one book a month. Reading is expanding knowledge. Set the goal of one book a month. This can even be an audio book.

Declutter your home every 3 months. I like to do this when the seasons change but every 3 months works too. This is great for Feng Shui.

Drink water daily. Make this the year of hydration!

Try something new. Try a class, go to a new restaurant, grocery shop at a different store. Who knows what you may end up loving.

Journal daily. Personally, writing down my thoughts helps me to process and let go of thoughts that i no longer want. A clear mind makes space for new ideas.

Take your vitamins and supplements.

Have a monthly money date. Once a month i light a candle, sit at my desk and take a good look at my finances and online bank accounts. This helps me see where i am at and what i need to do to reach my financial goals for the month. Money doesn’t have to be scary.

Make an effort to see friends and family. The ones that make you feel good!

Explore your city. Be a tourist for day.

Make gratitude lists. This is especially good to do when you feel like things are falling apart, trust me.

Set a weekly reset day. Make time for rest.

Make a vision board. See above for details!

Cut down on processed foods. Health is wealth.

Take digital detoxes. Even if its just a few hours a week!

Go out in nature more often. Nature is a healer.

Limit scrolling time and make an effort not to compare your life to those on social media.

Clean your home weekly. When i set a cleaning schedule for things to do daily. You could even hire a cleaner of that’s your thing!

Be mindful of what you buy this year. Quality over quantity.

Prioritize you. Over everything.

Take a course. I love doing this! I have expanded my knowledge in all the things that i naturally love by taking courses.

Feng Shui your home. Obviously.

Exercise regularly. I aim for 3 - 4 times a week.

Remember that if for some reason you fall of track, not be hard on yourself! You are worthy of grace.

XOXO
