Why April is the perfect time to start something new
It is April, it is Spring, it is wood element season!
This year, according to Chinese astrology, is the year of the wood snake.
Spring is here and it is a season connected to the element of wood. This is the most potent time of the year to start something new or, finally put that idea into motion.
This Spring i have fully entered my gardening phase. We also have an incubator will the sweetest duck eggs that hatch next week 🤞
I am fully embracing the new ideas that excite me and saying yes to everything that feels good in my body. I even tried a ballet class and had a phone interview with a local news company.
Spring has just started but, I have already put myself in situations so far out of my comfort zone and it feels…. good!
What i am noticing is, the more i put myself out there and say yes to things I would usually run from, I am receiving more and more fun opportunities.
This is the season to shake things up. Start something new, add something new to your normal routines and give your home a little glow up.
Enhance the wood element in your front entrance to help encourage growth and new opportunities.
Add a wooden welcome sign to your front entrance.
Place trees or plants in wooden baskets on either side of your front door.
Add plants to the inside of your front entrance.
Decorate with the colors green or brown inside of your home.
Tend to any plants inside your home. Take off dead leaves etc. Remove any dead plants.
Clean up the areas outside. Get your yard and gardens ready for new growth. Remove any garbage.
I have started a new journal practice that has changed my world. It had helped me let of what no longer serves me and allowed me to get super clear on what I want going forward.
Think new season, new goals, new you.
Your New Seasonal Journal practice
I always like to grab a new journal for each season. I feel like setting goals and setting new intentions feels more realistic with seasons rather than setting them every month.
Giving yourself a month to start and complete new goals is too much pressure and, can have you feeling defeated if you don't make them. That is not the vibe!
#1 Write a list of all the things that went well last season. Think about what you did, how you felt, the things that made you feel good.
I even like to include food that made me happy! Or the random compliment from a stranger and even the things I did for others that made my soul smile.
Always write thank you at the end of this list!
#2 Write a list of all the things that no longer serve you. This could be habits you don’t want to continue this season, old feelings about family members or even situations you keep thinking about, that play in your mind and cause negative emotion.
We have all had those conversations in the shower over and over again of how a conversation could have been different! Let that go!
I always catch negative thoughts and start singing a song or take a deep breath to snap myself out of it! It works!
#3 Make a list of new intentions and goals.
The trick is to write them like they have already happened.
For example if one of your goals is to manifest a new car you could write “I am so happy and grateful my new car is parked safely in the garage” You can also add specific details like the model and color of the car and how you feel when you drive it to create feeling and emotion.
When we write the things we want like we already have them, they have to come. That is the law of assumption.
Use this new season to help you manifest your goals and use your home to help welcome new opportunities.
In Feng Shui we create homes that support us through the seasons. Think about how your home looks and feels and then decide if it is helping or hurting you.
Grab a Feng Shui consultation and we can work together to create a home that fully supports your goals and intentions.
Your environment affects 33% of all that you attract in your life. If you could improve your life by 33%, the changes would have a big, positive impact.
