how to tastefully decorate you home with animal print
Animal print in the home can look tacky and too loud, but i love it! For me animal print can look classy and sophisticated when placed properly in the home and in the right places and the right prints.
Animal print, in Feng Shui, is connected to the fire element. Adding a little to your home can benefit the energy in your home and here is why:
The fire element is great for motivation. Think of it as sparking and activating your desires.
It can help us get creative. The patterns and colors can help inspire new ideas.
It invokes passion.
Fire helps energize a room or space.
It is a yang energy and can be perfect to add to yang rooms such as the dining room.
In Feng Shui, when you decorate with the five elements it helps to bring harmony to a space as they put the energy in balance. The five elements are Fire, Wood, Earth, Metal and Water. Each one is equally important.
The fire element is also connected to fame and reputation according to the Bagua map. When we activate that area of the Bagua map within our home we can help bring recognition to our achievements and help us to attract more opportunities for growth and expansion.

So how can we add animal print in a way that will elevate our home decor and won’t look like we just went hunting?
An accent wall. Accent walls help to enhance our home decor. An accent wall in animal print would really benefit your home office, dining room or bathroom like the picture below. I personally love accent walls, they help to bring energy and uplift a room, without being to over powering. When we are balancing a room in Feng Shui, accent walls can really be the perfect thing.

2. Chairs. Picture a perfectly styled living room with a beautiful accent chair with a plush throw blanket placed on it. Dreamy. Accent chairs do just as the name says, they bring a little something to a room without taking over. I always say the couch should be center stage in a living room and accent chairs just help it to look even better. Not only are they practical for extra seating they also can serve as the perfect meditation spot.

3. Did you know that if you wear something that has an animal print it can help boost your confidence? Wearing the fire element can actually help you when you are going to an interview or need to make an important decision. Painting your nails a fire color can also help give you that boost. Feng Shui isn’t just our home but also the energy we put out into our environment.
This animal print wardrobe is a little much for me but you feel the confidence!
4. A rug. An animal print rug in any home will help to elevate the energy. My only advice would be to avoid it in the bedroom. I once worked with a client that was looking for a romantic partner. She was obsessed with animal print and her whole bedroom had pictures of leopards and even her bed sheets had there print. She told me how she never has trouble meeting people while she was traveling for work but was so unsuccessful at home. Too much fire in the bedroom can actually keep potential partners away from committing to you! Once we removed to the animal print to other rooms in moderation she was able to meet her current partner with ease. Everything is energy.

5. Bowls, mugs and kitchenware. One of my most favorite mugs i own is a white and gold cheetah print mug. Not only does it look great in pictures, i just love the print and how i feel so abundant while drinking my morning coffee from it!

6. Home accessories such as accent pillows, towels and trays. These really help to bring some fire and change and uplift energy.
When i work with my clients, a lot of them think adding candles is the only way to activate fire until they fall in love with adding a little animal print!
Please note, all my suggestions are made using faux animal print. Real prints and fur bring a dead, lifeless energy that is not beneficial when you are creating a wonderful life!
